One year ago today I downloaded the Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector iOS app.
This game is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! I still check in 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or more times a day to make sure my kitties are cozy and well fed. (See my Sugary-styled yard above.)
The gameplay centers around collecting cats by attracting them with food and special items (goodies). The cats leave behind gold or silver dried sardines that are used as currency to purchase food, goodies, yard extensions, and various yard remodels.
There are 63 cats to collect of which 22 are rare cats that only appear when certain goodies and food are placed in the yard. I have collected all but 3 rare cats: Sapphire, Jeeves, and Whiteshadow. They haven’t once come for a visit. How sad.
I have purchased all the available goodies. I have purchased the yard expansion and all available yard remodels: Zen, Rustic, Modern, Western, Sugary, and Cafe. I am ready for some new cats, yard remodels, and goodies!
How about an onsen, shrine, or hanami remodel?
I would love a yokai collector game where you attract and collect the various supernatural spirits and demons found in Japanese folklore. If something like that game already exists please let me know!!!
